What social media platforms do nurses use the most?
According to a study looking at how nurses interact with social media, the most common platforms nurses use are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. (And we will refer to the results of this study throughout.)
These websites help nurses keep up to date with the latest news and trends and keep in touch with friends and loved ones.

Recruit nurses via Facebook
For Facebook, the study found that:
- the most effective time to reach nurses on Facebook it was between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
- the least effective time to reach nurses on Facebook was between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
- the most links clicked on Facebook occurred between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- the least links clicked on Facebook happened between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Based on this data, it looks like nurses are likely to be on Facebook early in the morning, but they might not to hire with content as much as late in the morning. And morning hours seem to work better for reaching nurses than afternoon and early evening hours.
Recruit nurses via Twitter
In the study mentioned above, the highest number of nurses posting to Twitter occurred between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Engagement was also the highest during this period.
On the other hand, the lowest number of impressions and engagements occurred between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. It seems that late morning and early afternoon were the prime times to engage the nurses. The evenings were the least effective times.
Instagram seemed to provide similar results to Facebook and Twitter:
- the most impressions on Instagram happened between 6am and 7am
- the least impressions on Instagram happened right after, between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- the most effective time to reach nurses on Instagram seemed to be between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.
- On the other hand, the least effective time to reach nurses on Instagram it was between 8am and 9am
Interestingly, these results show that – unlikely from other platforms – the best time to get nurses’ attention on Instagram might be early afternoon, even if they are also active on the platform. form in the morning.
On Linkedin, nurses consulted the most publications between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.. the the least active time to view content was 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. Like Instagram, the afternoon might be better for reaching out to nurses for opportunities on LinkedIn.
