Ameesha Patel on alleged relationship with Faisal Patel following social media proposal

Ameesha Patel grabbed the headlines recently, after her social media interaction with Faisal Patel, son of late politician Ahmed Patel, went viral. And a few days ago, Faisal proposed to her publicly on Twitter. It all started when Ameesha wished him birthday on December 30th on Twitter, saying, “Happy birthday sweetheart, I love you… have a super awesome year.” This was followed by Faisal’s response, which read, “I officially propose in public. Would you marry me?”

Ameesha herself purged the air, saying, “This is hilarious! Faisal and I have a long way to go. We have known each other for years. I am friends with him and his sister. This message was just an internal joke between us. There is nothing more. I am single and happy to be single. I am not interested in being in a relationship at this time. Faisal is someone who likes to make these jokes.

After her marriage proposal went viral, Faisal deleted her post, reports India time. Ameesha thought he shouldn’t have deleted the post and said, “I told him you shouldn’t have deleted the post and that I would have replied to the post in my style. But he said he started getting calls from people. See, that’s what happens with public figures, you can’t even joke in public.

Ameesha went on to say, “We both share political backgrounds. My grandfather, lawyer Rajni Patel, worked with (former Indian Prime Minister) Indira Gandhi, while Mr. Ahmed Patel worked with Sonia Gandhi. Our families have known each other for three generations. I was very close to the late Uncle Ahmed. Faisal and I also share mutual friends.

She added, “I know a lot of celebrities are getting married recently, but I have no plans to join the bandwagon. I’m happy to stay single and do my own thing as I wish. that being in a relationship is emotionally very draining, at this point i don’t have time for that.

Currently, Ameesha is busy filming “Gadar 2”, the sequel to the hit movie “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” (2001), directed by Anil Sharma.
