Notably, Pandey hosts a Facebook live session every Sunday where he discusses police-related issues with ordinary people and also announces several initiatives.
One of his initiatives called “Sunday Street”, under which certain roads across Mumbai were stopped for car traffic for a few hours every Sunday morning so that citizens could use them for recreational activities, has become very popular. with the Mumbaikars.
Pandey also tried to set up a civic body with the participation of housing society members, so that public issues could be effectively communicated to the police and the civic body.
Pandey had ordered a crackdown on traffic violations asking traffic police to register FIRs against those driving in the wrong direction, following which thousands of motorists were booked.
He also called on the police to ensure free and fair recording of FIRs and to act against noise nuisance especially against those who carry out construction work beyond the stipulated period.
